CoinGecko: Mascot Rebrand 🦎

CoinGecko is a cryptocurrency data platform that provides comprehensive information on various cryptocurrencies. The team approached me to revamp their gecko mascot, aiming for a more playful and brand-aligned design.

Problem: The original CoinGecko mascot was outdated and lacked consistency across the platform, failing to effectively convey the brand’s playful and approachable personality. Additionally, GeckoTerminal required its own unique mascot to establish a distinct identity.

Solution: Collaborated closely with the client to develop a compelling narrative and personality for each mascot, aligning them with the brand’s core values. Designed two mascots with distinct characteristics and implemented a comprehensive illustration style guide to maintain brand consistency.

Process Overview

The front/side profile combo gives the mascot its unique look, showing both the gecko’s nostrils and head shape in one view.

We also boosted the saturation of the brand’s gecko green and overall color palette to match the mascot’s vibrant energy.
